SITTI VCS TO KSAB

KSAB is the acronym for King Salman Air Base, is a military air base in Riyadh, the capital city of Saudi Arabia. SITTI has already been supplying this country with many other equipment and systems during the past decades, through the Communications Experts local company.

SITTI is known in the Middle East region for its extremely reliable and flexible VCSs (Voice Communication Systems) that cover all communication needs for both military and civil air traffic. They seamlessly allow the coexistence of analogue, digital and VOIP (Voice over IP) technologies, thanks to dedicated interface features and boards that convert whichever received signal to VOIP and this latter to any legacy protocol when transmitting.

The VCS that is going to be supplied to KSAB belongs to the M800IP® family of MULTIFONO® VCS products, nowadays present in most countries in the world. It is fully compliant with the latest standards issued by international bodies like ICAO, EUROCONTROL and EUROCAE, with special emphasis on the ED 137 standard, cornerstone for the use of VOIP in the air management field.

Controllers have direct access to a significant number of analogue and VOIP radios and telephone lines in a seamless way, interacting with the system through ergonomic high performance keypads installed on consoles, also manufactured by SITTI.

The awarded order is complemented by a Crash Fire and Rescue System with 6 master crash phones and 20 secondary users to properly cope with emergency situations. The supply also includes a triple redundant GPS clock sub-system that provides precise synchronisation to all elements, with high precision free running mode in case of absence of the satellite signal.

SITTI is a primary VCS manufacturer and supplier worldwide, capable of giving prompt and top edge solution answers to Customer needs, both in the Civilian and Military fields. The leading edge, redundant, non-blocking architecture of the MULTIFONO® M800IP® provides flexibility and modularity for easy expansion and addition of further functionalities.

SITTI UPGRADES BRAZILIAN SYSTEMS

The presence of SITTI in Brazil dates long back ago. All along the past decades, SITTI has been supporting the air traffic control centres in Brazil by providing top-edge systems, capable of managing the increasing air traffic demand and the challenging conditions of such a large geographical area.

This successful story continues today with the upgrade of the local systems used by DTCEA, ICEA and CINDACTA centres. They have been gradually upgraded to fully comply with the latest international standard, including the famous EUROCAE ED-137 standard, which SITTI has been giving active contribution to.

The latest and most advanced implementation of the provisions defined by ED137 for the use of VoIP (Voice over IP) in the Air Traffic Control field (ATC) are present in the MULTIFONO® Voice Communication System solution. Both main and standby existing systems have been gradually migrated to this new concept based system, thus giving operators access to a very large set of features and capabilities, typical of VoIP.

Existing analogue and digital connections and radio links are seamlessly connected to SITTI VCS, so that controllers can simultaneously use any kind of connection to assure a constant coverage of the Brazilian airspace and to provide safe and efficient air traffic control services to all inland and international flights.

The Brazilian air traffic management authorities are committed to give Brazil the best solutions for a safe air traffic management.” – Mr. Ornaghi, SITTI Area Manager stated – “And here is where SITTI can help with its decades-long expertise, through its leading and most effective systems, capable of being deployed in a nationwide system.

SITTI HELPS RECOVER OF LYBIA

Lybia has undergone a long period of instability and internal struggles, but it is now rapidly recovering and reconstructing its infrastructures. To allow commercial contact with the rest of the world and to set the basis for successful cooperation with other countries, air traffic control shall be restored to its full capacity.

SITTI was involved in partnership with Technosky in this project to provide Libya with the installation, configuration, setting up, integration, and commissioning of 3 M800IP® Voice Communication Systems (VCS) to be deployed at Tripoli and Misurata International Airports and the Tripoli Backup ACC system. The new MULTIFONO® M800IP® VCSs provided by SITTI give full compliance to the most recent standard’s provisions in the Air Traffic Control and Management field, namely ED-136, ED-137, and ED-138.

Both analogue and VoIP (Voice over IP) radios can be seamlessly interfaced thanks to the legacy-to-VoIP features natively provided by SITTI boards. The VCS is in fact fully using VoIP for the management of voice and related protocols and signaling.

This means that Libya will install the most technologically advanced systems for the control of its airspace in conjunction with 2 newly developed VRS800S Voice Recording Systems produced by SITTI.

These systems will record all ED137 and analogue radio and VCS streams through a redundant server solution. Playback will be performed by a recording client via a secure and easily accessible web interface.

The supply is complemented by 2 crash phone systems (M803IP) which allow the handling of hazardous emergency situations. Last, but not least, SITTI is also going to install a total of 10 controller working positions (CWP) that provide air traffic controllers with the best ergonomic and functional access to the communications and control tools they have to utilize.

SITTI is a primary VCS manufacturer and supplier worldwide, providing prompt and cutting edge solutions to Customer needs, both in the Civilian and Military fields. The leading edge, redundant, non-blocking architecture of the MULTIFONO® M800IP® provides flexibility and modularity for easy expansion and addition of further functionalities.
