SIMULATION IN MYANMAR BY SITTI

Myanmar is a country where the consolidated relationship with SITTI through Samart U-Trans Co.Ltd., a Thai company, brought to the installation of a brand new MULTIFONO® M800IP® Voice Communication System at the Yangon Air Control Centre (ACC), as reported here: https://www.sitti.it/sitti-for-the-far-east/

The introduction of the new VCS is contributing to the development of the country, by ensuring a higher level of flight safety and reliable communications. The system also included a small simulation facility for the local Air Traffic Management Centre (ATMC).

In order to further improve the situational awareness of air operators and their prompt response to all possible events that may occur over the country, a new simulation system is going to be supplied by SITTI. This includes a number of controller working positions from which trainees can simulate the various route conditions, in order to provide a better service for safe flights.

SITTI is a primary VCS manufacturer and supplier worldwide, capable of giving prompt and top edge solution answers to Customer needs, both in the Civilian and Military fields. The leading edge, redundant, non-blocking architecture of the MULTIFONO® M800IP® provides flexibility and modularity for easy expansion and addition of further functionalities.

SITTI EUROCAE WG67 SECRETARY

EUROCAE is the organization that deals with the definition of operational standards relating to air traffic management and control (ATM/ATC). In particular, its working group WG67 defines how to use the VOIP technology that is at the basis of ATC modern communications. Over time, this working group has assumed enormous importance in aeronautics worldwide, because it is the place where the technology that is being used throughout the world is defined.

SITTI has been a member of this working group since its foundation. SITTI proactively contributed to the outcomes of the working group, namely the international standards known as ED136, ED137 and ED138, all dealing with Voice Over IP in the field of air traffic control. SITTI has in particular been responsible for leading the subgroup responsible for the definition of the supervision of the elements in a VOIP network based on ED137.

At the latest WG67 meeting, SITTI decided to accept the role of secretary of the working group, in the person of Mr. Roberto Weger, thus further contributing to the results that this group is expected to achieve, given the new objectives set during such meeting. The ToR (Terms of Reference) for the group, overviewing the future activities to be executed in the coming years, are still to be approved by EUROCAE; the work done till now is not finished because large areas have to be taken into consideration for integration into ED137, one of all: security.

Thanks to the exceptionally good image and competence that SITTI has been able to offer and guarantee as a primary manufacturer of reliable systems worldwide, SITTI will continue providing its effective support to the group, leveraging on the large experience and expertise accumulated in the decades-long presence in the ATC market.
