SITTI CONSOLES FOR CROATIA

SITTI is a world primary system supplier and integrator of Operational and Technical solutions for Air Traffic Control for both Civil organisations and Military Air Forces. SITTI is not only known for high technology and reliability of their Voice Communication Systems, but also for the relevant ancillary equipment and Controller Working Position consoles for use in airfield towers and Air Traffic Control Radar and Procedural Centres.

ATC Controllers are tasked with a heavy and responsible workload. As such, they deserve an ergonomic and easy-to-use environment to access all required communication and control facilities (e.g. Radar and Radios). In line with these requirements, SITTI Workstation Consoles are designed with high consideration for Operator comfort and fatigue related factors, whilst providing efficient and effective access to equipment and services for long term daily use.

Croatia Control, the state-owned company operating in the Republic of Croatia to provide air navigation services (ANS), finalised an order to SITTI for the supply of a number of consoles to be installed at the approach centres (TMA) and airfield towers (TWR) of Zagreb, Pula, Zadar, Split, Dubrovnik. Following strict regulations and special requirements from the customer, SITTI customised its consoles to fulfil the customer needs.

The end user is at the core of SITTI interest when it comes to consoles. Design criteria also took into consideration such aspects as choice of materials, seating adjustment, optimisation of viewing angles and conditions, noise isolation and ventilation, touch and feel aspects, as well as the correct positioning of communication elements (keyboards, connector panels, loudspeaker location etc.).

SITTI IN THE ARABIC PENINSULA

For coping with local air traffic needs, new Voice Communication Systems (VCS) have been ordered by the Saudi Arabian Wasmah company to SITTI on behalf of RSAF (Royal Saudi Air Force). The MULTIFONO® M800IP® has all characteristics to fulfil the received requirements.

4 systems are expected to be delivered during 2019.

Additionally, 4 crash phone systems have also been ordered to deal with emergency situations. Recording and GPS precision clock distribution systems are also part of the supply.

About 30 analogue and VoIP radio channels, as well as more than 20 analogue and VoIP telephone lines, shall be interfaced by 6 controller working positions. The systems are already prepared for housing a 25% capacity increase. This will not be affecting the system performance and behavior, thanks to the native modularity and scalability characteristics of the MULTIFONO® VCS systems by SITTI.

SITTI is a primary VCS manufacturer and supplier worldwide, capable of giving prompt and top edge solutions to Customer needs, both in the Civilian and Military fields. The leading edge, redundant, non-blocking architecture of the MULTIFONO® M800IP® provides flexibility and modularity for easy expansion and addition of further functionalities.

CYBER SECURITY CERTIFICATE

CYBER SECURITY CERTIFICATE

Security is getting paid more and more importance in the world at all levels. Every day newspapers report attacks by malicious people. It is not only a matter of physical terrorism: attacks can also be perpetrated in silence and without injuries. These are cyberattacks. Cyberattacks may be as devastating as true bombs.

High-technology companies are among the preferred targets of such attacks, not only for the possibility of stealing information to be resold or destroyed, but even for just the insane pride of having been able to overcome the barriers that are in place for preventing such attacks. Once information of any kind is reached in the course of an attack, the damage for the attacked company can result being very serious. Confidential information can be cancelled, resold, made public, or may even be used for blackmail purposes.

SITTI has always been sensible to this security aspect. The high level of technology that is every day managed by the company and the utmost importance of providing secure systems to our customers (regardless whether civil or military) makes it vital to protect us from any kind of possible attack or even threat of an attack. This is the reason for which SITTI is using all possible means to prevent intruders to enter the company network and access our information, including details on customers, contacts, contracts, finance, staff privacy, etc.

In order to verify that the efforts done so far are really effective, SITTI asked APMG International to assess the conformance of the organization defenses to the CYBER ESSENTIALS requirements against cyberattacks. SITTI has been awarded this certificate in June 2019.

SITTI IN CHILE

The International Airport “Carriel Sur” at Concepcion (Talcahuano) is going to have a brand new MULTIFONO® M800IP® system installed. DGAC (Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil) is the Chilean Air Navigation Service Provider whose services will benefit from the new system.

The list of interfaces required by the customer is significantly large and diversified, including the capability of connecting both analogue and VoIP radios and telephones. Such requirements do not represent a problem for SITTI M800IP® system, because this latter is natively capable of dealing with many concurrent types of interfaces, thanks to its modular and distributed architecture.

The following figures give an idea of the customer needs that SITTI M800IP® system is asked to fulfil (in brackets the already foreseen expansion):
• 4W E&M analogue radios in main/standby mode: 8 (+4)
• VoIP ED137 radios in main/standby mode: 8 (+2)
• Best signal selection (BSS) modules: 4
• Analogue telephone lines: 30
• Analogue hot line telephone lines: 20
• SIP/IP telephone connections: 30 (+30)
• Controller Working Positions (CWP): 8

Site Acceptance Test (SAT) is foreseen at the end of 2019.
