SITTI FIELD DEPLOYABLE VCS IN THE MIDDLE EAST

SITTI has been awarded (through Mobile Air Traffic Control Systems Ltd) a contract for the provision of 4 mobile (field deployable) Voice Communication Systems for military use in the Middle East. The supplied system will enhance the defense capability of an important Nation in that area.
M802IP®, the M800IP®-family VoIP field deployable system, explicitly thought for military mobile applications, is the perfect synthesis between SITTI proven experience in Military Air Traffic Control (ATC) equipment and the particular requirements for “heavy duty” environments. M802IP® is built on the extremely reliable architecture of M800IP® MULTIFONO® VOIP Voice Communication System, and it further emphasizes the characteristics of modularity, robustness and ease of deployment. The system architecture is based on three main building blocks:
• Switching Unit – M802IP® dual redundant Gigabit LAN backbone, built and managed by distributed Switching Units, connected each other via fiber optic multi-mode links. Two independent LAN switches are included to Interface Units and Controller Working Positions (CWP).
• Interface Unit – Standard VOIP and/or legacy Radio/Telephone interfaces of different kinds are provided in a single unit, powered by independent AC/DC modules and connected to M802IP® dual redundant Gigabit backbone.
• CWP – A rugged protective case includes a complete Controller Working Position, composed by 12” touch-computer, headset, handset and monitor loudspeaker. CWPs are powered by external AC/DC module and are connected to M802IP® dual redundant Gigabit backbone.
SITTI is a primary VCS manufacturer and supplier worldwide, capable of giving prompt and top edge solutions to Customer needs, both in the Civilian and Military fields. The leading edge, redundant, non-blocking architecture of the MULTIFONO® M800IP® product family provides flexibility and modularity for easy expansion and addition of further functionalities.

SITTI AT IGA INAUGURATION

The New Istanbul Airport has been inaugurated on last 29th October 2018. This brand new airport (IGA – Istanbul Great Airport) has been built on the European side of Istanbul, with the intention of further expanding the air traffic offer to passengers travelling from West to East and from North to South (and vice versa), and to become one of the largest and busiest airports in the world. When completed, the airport will encompass 6 runways, capable of dealing with about 3500 flights per day to 300 destinations, and an overall capacity of up to 200 million passengers per year.

As part of this exciting project, SITTI received an order for the provision of the new MULTIFONO® M800IP® Voice Communication System (VCS) for the IGA tower. Installation, setting up and test phases have been carried out according to the very stringent and demanding plans, with the goal of fulfilling all operational requirements within the allotted short time frame. The new MULTIFONO® VCS is based on the VoIP technology, according to the most recent definitions and specifications of the international ED137 standard. It includes 39 controller working positions (CWP) that will be capable of interfacing 420 Rx/Tx radio channels (analogue and VoIP) and several analogue and VoIP telephone line.

Many other SITTI systems are already installed and operative in Turkey; they have been proving their reliability, scalability and robustness over the past years. The new VCS is connected through standard links to the other existing SITTI systems in the Nation, so to provide efficient and effective handling of all voice communications between controllers and pilots for a safe and smooth control of the traffic landing at or departing from the new airport.

The CEO of SITTI, Mr. Massimo Crovato, has been invited to the official inauguration at the presence of the President of Turkish Republic, Mr. Erdogan and more than 50 foreign leaders, ministers and high-level officials. The positive long-term relationship between SITTI and the Turkish airspace management bodies has been underlined by Mr. Crovato: “SITTI is proud to having contributed to this huge project, which is confirming SITTI as a primary VCS manufacturer and supplier worldwide. The prompt answer to Customer needs through the provision of top edge solutions is the strength of our company. Based on the very long, positive and fruitful collaboration with Turkish authorities, we have once more had the opportunity to support and concur to the development of the air traffic management of this vital area between Europe and Asia.

ISTANBUL NEW AIRPORT

With the goal of further expanding their offer to passengers travelling from West to East and from North to South (and vice versa), Turkey is underway the construction of a new airport on the European side of Istanbul. The Istanbul New Airport planned to be the largest airport in the world, with 150 million annual passenger capacity, possibly expandable to 200 million, if required in the future. As of May 2018, around 90% of construction is completed. The inauguration of the airport is planned to take place on 29 October 2018.

SITTI is part of this exciting project, by providing the Voice Communication System (VCS) which will allow efficient and effective handling of all voice communications between controllers and pilots for a safe and smooth control of the traffic landing at or departing from the new airport. The MULTIFONO® VCS being provided is based on the VoIP technology, according to the most recent definitions and specifications of the international ED137 standard. The supplied system encompasses 39 controller working positions (CWP) that will be capable of interfacing up to 420 Rx/Tx radio channels (both analogue and VoIP) and several analogue and VoIP telephone line. NTP server, VoIP recorder and Emergency radio panels have been provided along with Voice Communication System. The new VCS will also have E1 and VoIP connectivity with the existing SITTI system installed in SMART Approach/TWR center in order to share radio/telephone resources between the two VCS.

SITTI is proud to contribute to this huge project, which is confirming SITTI as a primary VCS manufacturer and supplier worldwide, capable of giving prompt and top edge solutions to Customer needs, both in the Civilian and Military fields. The leading edge, redundant, non-blocking architecture of the MULTIFONO® M800IP® provides flexibility and modularity for easy expansion and addition of further functionalities.
